I chose the practice of law after achieving professional success in both the public and private sectors. My experience as a contract negotiator for the government and as a strategic planner in the high tech field, strengthen my role as an advocate and collaborative partner for my clients. Having been divorced myself, I fully appreciate the difficulties inherent in starting a ‘new’ life.
The traditional adversarial law approach can be costly, both in time and in money, for dealing with family matters such as the breakdown of a relationship. The law is also ill suited to deal with the emotional fall out that is present at such times. These drawbacks are minimized in the collaborative approach, which places me by your side, providing support, experience and expertise while providing you with an opportunity to voice your concerns and help build results.
To provide my clients with the specialization and focus they deserve, I have limited my practice to family matters. In addition to my law degree, I have a
Master degree in Conflict Resolution, and am accredited as a
mediator with the Ontario Association for Family Mediation, an
adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law,
and a faculty member of the Ontario Collaborative Law
Foundation.
