Counsellor, Individual & Couple Therapist
Collaborative Mental Health Practitioner
A Counsellor is a mental health professional who has taken intense and specialized training (including a Master’s level degree and a period of clinical internship) and who have been accredited / certified by their professional association. The professional association monitors the ongoing professional development as well as the standards and ethical practices of the therapist.
A Collaborative Mental Health Practitioner is an accredited/certified mental health professional who has taken the Collaborative Family Law training and been accredited by the Collaborative Family Law group.
Sandy is a combination of lived life experience, education and credentials wrapped up in a warm and caring individual focused on helping others achieve personal growth, and/or, develop coping strategies to deal with crisis or change, within an ever-changing and challenging world.
Sandy brings together a corporate high-tech career with undergraduate studies in sociology, political science, psychology, theology and graduate studies and clinical work in individual counselling with additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals and couples.
Sandy is focused on helping clients access their emotional, analytical and spiritual resources to develop strategies that work to help them understand and cope better in their world.
Sandy has chosen to have her practice supervised by a registered clinical psychologist, and is a member of, and certified by, the Canadian Counselling Association. |
