I worked as a counselor and advocate in the not-for-profit social services agency sector for over 15 years before deciding to attend law school. During this time I gained extensive experience working with a diversity of people.
I had the opportunity to article for Jim Jeffcott, one of the founding members of Ottawa’s Collaborative Law Program, and enthusiastically pursued this approach when practicing family law. I ardently believe that family issues do not belong in a court setting and that the collaborative process, with its focus on mediation and negotiation, is the best approach, and provides the most positive outcomes, when facing family separation.
