I have been practicing law exclusively in areas of litigation since my call to the Ontario Bar in 1989, with a particular emphasis in family law. Since 1994 I have carried on a sole practice in Kanata serving all areas of Ottawa West including Nepean, Kanata, and Stittsville. My practice and client base extends well into the Ottawa Valley including the communities and surrounding areas of Almonte, Carleton Place, Richmond, Perth, Arnprior and Renfrew. I have acquired a great deal of court and trial experience during my years of practice. I have as well learned through all aspects of my work, including family law, and also specifically through the mandatory mediation requirements of civil court Actions, that settlement of claims, or alternative dispute resolution, is preferable, and desirable, for most cases. In my view, the 'collaborative' model is well suited to family law and I encourage the majority of separating spouses to consider this approach in the resolution of the issues facing them.
